Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Carrom collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our app, including gameplay, social features, chat, Moments, voice rooms, calls, advertisements, and in-app purchases.

Summary: If you sign in, create a profile, upload media, chat, post Moments, join voice features, watch ads, or make purchases, data may be transmitted off your device to us and our service providers to provide these features.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account and Profile Information

When you sign in or set up your profile, we may collect or receive:

  • Name or display name
  • Email address
  • Profile photo or avatar
  • Player ID
  • Country or country code
  • Optional profile details you choose to add, such as bio, cover photo, bio audio, gender, birthday, hometown, occupation, hobbies, and travel destinations
  • Profile settings and social preferences

1.2 Gameplay and Social Information

To operate Carrom, we collect gameplay and social data such as:

  • Game results, wins, losses, streaks, level progress, coins, gems, and other in-app economy data
  • Friends, follows, profile visits, likes, comments, reactions, reports, blocks, and notifications
  • Chat activity and message metadata
  • Voice room and call metadata, such as room IDs, participant identifiers, and connection status

1.3 User Content

If you choose to create or share content, we collect the content needed to provide that feature, including:

  • Chat messages
  • Moments posts, captions, comments, and reactions
  • Photos and videos uploaded to profiles, chats, or Moments
  • Audio uploads such as bio audio and voice notes
  • Live audio/video streams during calls or voice features

1.4 Device, Usage, and Diagnostic Information

We and our providers may automatically collect technical data, including:

  • Device type, operating system, app version, and language
  • IP address and approximate location derived from it
  • Device and account identifiers, including advertising identifiers where available
  • Information about app activity, which may include information about apps on the device or app availability as processed by certain advertising or measurement partners
  • App interactions, screen views, ad interactions, session information, and diagnostics
  • Push notification token and related messaging metadata
  • Network and performance information used for security, fraud prevention, reliability, and analytics

1.5 Purchase Information

If you buy virtual currency or other in-app items, billing platforms may provide us with transaction-related information such as product identifiers, purchase status, and limited purchase history needed to fulfill the transaction.

  • To run online games, matchmaking, leaderboards, rewards, and game progression
  • To provide social features such as follows, profile viewing, chat, notifications, and Moments
  • To upload, host, and display photos, videos, audio, and other content you choose to share

  • To process purchases and reward claims
  • To show, measure, and protect advertising
  • To analyze usage, improve the app, troubleshoot issues, and prevent abuse or fraud
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms

3. Third-Party Services and SDKs

Our app relies on third-party providers. Depending on the feature you use, these providers may process data on our behalf or for their own service operation, measurement, security, and advertising purposes.

3.1 Core Services

  • Supabase for authentication, database, storage, real-time updates, notifications support, and user-generated content hosting.
  • Google Sign-In for account login and profile bootstrap.
  • Firebase Analytics for app analytics and usage measurement.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notification delivery and token management.
  • LiveKit for real-time voice and video features.
  • Google Play Billing and/or Apple App Store billing services for in-app purchase processing on supported platforms.

3.2 Advertising and Mediation

Our app includes ads and reward-based ads. Advertising SDKs and mediated ad networks may collect or receive identifiers, approximate location, device/network data, ad interaction data, and diagnostics to serve, personalize where permitted, measure, and protect ads.

  • Google Mobile Ads (AdMob)
  • Unity LevelPlay mediation
  • Mediated ad networks configured through LevelPlay, which may include providers such as Unity Ads and Meta Audience Network

The exact networks available at a given time may change based on our ad mediation setup.

We use advertising and analytics tools in the app. Depending on your region, device settings, and consent status, ads may be personalized or non-personalized.

  • Advertising providers may collect and process identifiers, approximate location, app interactions, and diagnostics.
  • Some advertising or mediation partners may also process app activity information, including information related to apps on the device, for advertising, measurement, and fraud prevention purposes where applicable.
  • Analytics providers may collect app usage events, technical details, and identifiers to help us understand how the app is used.
  • You may be able to adjust some ad preferences through your device settings and any privacy or consent options presented in the app.

5. When We Share Information

We do not state that Carrom is a "no sharing" app. We share or make data available in the following situations:

  • With service providers and infrastructure partners that help us operate authentication, storage, messaging, analytics, ads, billing, voice/video, and support services.
  • With other users when you choose to participate in social features, such as showing your profile, display name, avatar, country flag, Moments posts, comments, likes, follows, or chat activity.
  • With advertising and measurement partners for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and related operations.
  • For safety, security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

We do not claim that all data remains solely on your device. The app transmits data off-device to provide online, social, voice, analytics, and ad-supported functionality.

We retain data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the app, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

  • Profile data is generally retained while your account remains active.
  • Content you create, such as Moments, comments, chat media, and uploaded profile assets, may remain stored until deleted by you, removed by us, or processed under our retention practices.
  • Technical logs, diagnostics, ad data, and analytics data may be retained for shorter or longer periods depending on provider practices and legal or operational needs.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. This includes the use of encrypted network transmission where supported by our systems and providers. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

8. Your Choices and Rights

  • Profile and content controls: You can update profile information and manage certain content from within the app.
  • Push notifications: You can control notification permissions in your device settings.
  • Ad preferences: You can manage certain ad and privacy choices through your device settings and any in-app consent or privacy options made available to you.
  • Deletion requests: You may request deletion of your data by emailing us at sugarspicesprinklers@gmail.com. Some deletion tools may also be available in the app for profile and content removal. We may retain limited information where required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or transaction records.

9. Children's Privacy

Carrom is not intended for children under 13, or under the minimum age required by local law. If you believe a child has provided personal information in violation of this policy, please contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own by us or by our service providers. By using the app, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data protection rules than those in your jurisdiction.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated in-app or by other appropriate means.
