This Privacy Policy describes how ScanDocs ("the App", "we", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.

2. Information We Collect
a) Account Information
When you sign in with Google, we collect your name and email address. This is stored locally on your device to maintain your session.
b) Files & Documents
Images and PDF files you select are processed either on-device or sent to our cloud processing provider (pdfRest) only when you explicitly choose a cloud feature (e.g., PDF to Word, Compress, PDF to JPG). We do not browse or access other files on your device.
c) Usage & Advertising Data
If you use the free version of the App, Google AdMob may collect your device advertising ID and app usage data to serve and measure ads. This is handled by Google under their own privacy policy.
d) Purchase History
If you subscribe to ScanDocs Premium, Google Play Billing processes your payment and subscription status.
e) App Diagnostics
Basic crash and error data may be collected to improve app stability. This contains no personally identifiable information.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate App features
- To maintain your login session across app restarts
- To send your files to pdfRest solely to complete a cloud processing task you requested
- To display advertisements (free users only) via Google AdMob
- To process your premium subscription via Google Play Billing
- To improve App stability and fix bugs

We do not sell your personal information. Data is shared only with:
- Google (Firebase Auth / Google Sign-In) — for authentication
- pdfRest — files you send for cloud processing only; not retained after task completion
- Google AdMob — advertising ID and usage data for ad delivery (free users)
- Google Play Billing — for subscription management
- Law enforcement — if required by applicable law
5. Data Retention
- On-device data (files, login info) remains until you log out or uninstall the App
- Cloud-processed files are retained by pdfRest only long enough to complete the requested task, per pdfRest's policies
- Ad data is managed by Google AdMob under Google's retention policies
6. Your Rights & Data Deletion
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To request deletion of your account data, email us at:

- Log out at any time to remove stored account info from your device
- Revoke Camera / Storage permissions via your device Settings
- Opt out of personalized ads via Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of ads personalization

8. Children's Privacy
ScanDocs is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We use HTTPS for all data transmission. Files processed on-device never leave your device. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

We may update this Policy periodically. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
